About Barkingham Place
The story behind Barkingham Place and our commitment to caring for dogs like family.
About Us
Years ago, Grant realized that traditional kennel environments weren’t the kind of place he wanted dogs to spend their time. At the time, his own dog occasionally had to stay in a kennel due to his work schedule, and he saw firsthand how limiting and stressful that experience could be. That realization inspired him to create something different.
When the opportunity came to open his own place, Grant envisioned a space where dogs wouldn’t spend their days confined in enclosures. Instead, they could move freely, stay active, play, or simply relax when they felt like it. He built a dedicated environment designed to feel comfortable and natural for dogs, with space to run, socialize, and enjoy their day in a home-like setting.
For more than eight years, Grant has focused on continually improving that experience, creating a place where dogs are cared for with attention, patience, and genuine love while enjoying the freedom to be themselves.
